On any certification row in a worker's edit profile, under Scan cert, upload a photo of the card. FieldCred reads the text in your browser (no photo is sent anywhere for this step) and tries to pull out earned and expiry dates.
First scan of a session is slower.
The scanning engine (~7 MB) loads on first use only — expect a few seconds the first time, and much faster on every scan after that in the same session.
What happens after a scan
- If dates are found, the Earned and/or Expires fields auto-fill — review them before saving.
- If no dates are recognized, the raw scanned text is shown below the upload so you can read off the date yourself and type it in manually.
This is beta — always glance at the physical card before saving.
OCR from a phone photo of a printed or embossed card can misread similar-looking digits. A wrong date here silently changes a worker's compliance status, so a quick visual check is worth the ten seconds.
This is a convenience for data entry only — it has nothing to do with the Verified attestation, which is a separate, deliberate step against the issuing source's real portal.
